Margaret R Conneely graduated from Northern IL University with a Bachelor of Science degree in both accounting and finance. She began her accounting career with an international public accounting firm in Chicago, gaining valuable audit and business valuation experience. Her career than moved into the private sector with internal audit, financial statement preparation and IT accounting liaison responsibilities. In 1992, Margaret decided to focus on tax preparation services and joined the professional team of a national firm. During her 17 years, she was listed as a master level preparer, completing business, individual, non-resident/dual resident and estate returns. In addition, Margaret became a much sought after instructor teaching advanced tax classes on corporate, rental real estate and small business taxation. Margaret’s attention to detail, research based decisions, availability to clients throughout the year and highest professional ethnics let to one of the strongest retention rates for the firm. As a licensed and insured CPA in IL since 2009, Margaret completes over 40 hours of continuing professional education each year. In August 2020, Margaret earned the Masters Degree in Taxation from NIU. Margaret is a registered Electronic Return Originator with the IRS and a member of the IL CPA Society and the American Payroll Association. Since 2014, Margaret has also contributed to the accounting curriculum at the College of DuPage through the accounting advisory board and as faculty. She continues to focus on the individual needs of each client with the highest standards of excellence and professionalism.

Eileen Burke is a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She has also completed coursework in the MBA program at Dominican University. In 1989, Eileen ventured into tax preparation with a large, international tax prepartion firm. Recognizing her precise nature, attention to detail and unparalleled tax expertise, firm management promoted Eileen to premium office director. During her 20 year career, Eileen was ackowledged as the IL tax specialist for the district, a master tax preparer and a trust and estate expert. Eileen became the “go to” person for the entire district for difficult tax questions. She not only achieved the Enrolled Agent statue with the highest score, but she became an instructor for the Enrolled agent review course. In addition, Eileen taught advanced level individual, business, non-resident, trust and estate tax return preparation classes. During the last four years, Eileen was appointed director of the firm’s premium tax office. Eileen managed all office personnel while handling some the most complex tax situations Her ability to successfully research and tackle difficult tax issues with compassion and professionalism has been rewarded with superior client approval and retention. As an Enrolled Agent, Eileen is admitted to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. She is experienced with representing taxpayers in IRS audits, site audits and paper audits. Eileen began her own business preparing tax returns in 2009 and is a Registered Electronic Return Originator with the IRS. She is also a member in good standing with the National Association of Tax Professionals. Eileen completes a variety of continuing education seminars every year, allowing her to stay up-to-date on tax issues and offer her clients the highest quality professional tax services, with a personal touch.

Terrence Barrington holds a Masters of Engineering degree from the University of Illinois. After a successful career at AT&T/Lucent Technologies in Naperville, he retired in 2011. In 2003, Terrence joined the professional tax preparation team of a national firm and found tremendous satisfaction assisting clients with their tax needs. After three years of intensive education and training, he achieved the Master Tax Advisor recognition within the company and Enrolled Agent designation with the IRS. When not taking tax classes, Terrence was a highly regarded advanced tax instructor for this national firm. He was recognized among his peers as an expert in trusts, business and investment tax issues. He spent nine tax seasons with the firm, during which time he prepared thousands of personal, business and trust tax returns. Terrence’s tax expertise and dedication to excellent client service, led to his joining Burke and Conneely, LLC in 2014.
